On March 8, 2011, the editorial office of Journal of Arid Land (JAL) received an Email from Prof. ZHU Cheng, the Consulting Department of International Information Retrieval System and he said that JAL has been assessed by Index Copernicus and officially listed as a source journal in the database.

Index Copernicus (IC), Poland, was founded by the Medical Science International. The database collects biology, medicine, mathematics, physics, chemistry and other scientific information, which is a useful complement to the databases of Index Medicus and Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). Index Copernicus (IC), Poland, assesses journals based on the standards of Science Quality, Editorial Quality, International Influence, Publishing on Time and Print Quality, etc.

The embodying of JAL by IC indicates that the academic level and editorial quality of the journal has been internationally recognized, which will enhance the academic reputation and expand the international influence of JAL.
