On 13^th Nov., 2014, Bureau of Science Communication, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter “CAS”) launched the 2014 list of sci-tech journals financed by “CAS Scientific Publishing Fund”, on which Journal of Arid Land, an English journal sponsored by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, ranked 45^th among the first-second class. On the list of 162 journals, 66 appear in the first-second class and the rest 96 turn up in the third class. Journal of Arid Land has found itself in the first-second class for three consecutive years.
