Research progress of magneticbased methods in hidden bridge disease detection

Abstract:Different hidden bridge diseases, which have complex causes, are difficult to detect. As the hidden diseases cause sudden structural damage, timely detection and killing are significant. This paper systematically reviewed the current situation and bottleneck of the magnetic-based methods used in the detection of hidden bridge diseases, such as steel corrosion, cable breakage, steel stress, prestress, and fatigue damage, etc. After analyzed the effectiveness and application of the magnetic-based methods, the developments of these methods were discussed. A useful reference was provided for the development of practical, accurate, and equipment-based hidden disease detection methods.
