Abstract:Based on the greenway project on the south bank of Saichenghu, which is under construction, and aiming at the treatment of the deep silt soft foundation, the settlement law of a deep silt soft subgrade when dumping riprap to extrude silt under different factors is studied using the finite element numerical calculation method. Then, construction technology for dumping riprap to extrude silt in deep silt soft foundations is proposed and applied via engineering tests. The results show that the subgrade settlement increases significantly with increasing soft foundation depth and decreases significantly with increasing extruded silt thickness. Increasing the extruded silt moduli can reduce the subgrade settlement to a certain extent; however, because of the underlying soft foundation, its control effect on the subgrade settlement is limited. Therefore, for a deep silt soft foundation, effective measures need to be taken to increase the extruded silt thickness. Preloading can effectively reduce the settlement of the subgrade; however, as the preloading time increases, the reduction effect on the settlement gradually weakens. Therefore, considering the construction period and the post-construction settlement factors, the preloading time needs to be reasonably determined. The engineering test results show that the foundation bearing capacity is significantly improved and that the subgrade settlement is reduced by dumping riprap to extrude silt. This constitutes an efficient and economic treatment method for deep silt soft foundations.
