Abstract：This paper presented a direct method to calculate the response modification factor using pushover analysis and FEMA440 equivalent linearization method. The buckling-restrained braced RC frames of 3, 6, 9 stories were designed and analyzed. The results show a high accuracy and conservative rate of this method without tedious trials and a larger R factor of BRB-RC frames than ordinary concrete frame.
