Abstract:The buckling analysis of unstiffened and vertical stiffened steel plate shear wall(SPSW) under the combination of shear stress and non-uniform vertical compressive stress was carried out by using finite element software package ABAQUS 6.10. The effect of non-uniform vertical compressive stress on critical shear buckling stress of unstiffened SPSW was studied. The curves relating the critical shear buckling stress of vertical stiffened SPSW to the stiffening coefficient of stiffeners and the threshold stiffness were obtained. The results show that the critical shear buckling stress of unstiffened SPSW decreases with the increasing of the width-height ratio, height-thickness ratio of the SPSW and the ratio of the non-uniform compression stress to the shear stress, and increases with the increasing of non-uniform compressive stress coefficient. The threshold stiffness decreases with the increasing of non-uniform compressive stress coefficient, the ratio of width-to-height of portion, the number of stiffeners and the ratio of the torsional stiffness to the flexural stiffness of the stiffeners.
