Abstract：In this study, a new concept of green ground is proposed for the green technologies of ground improvement. The development in ground improvement techniques shall be closely related to the “green” concept from various construction stages. Based on typical practical cases, the advantages of green ground in terms of improvement technique, reinforcing material and construction technology are introduced. The concept of green ground meets the requirements for the national strategy of green development. Hence, it can be anticipated that green ground will be an attractive potential development in geotechnical engineering of China.
