Abstract:After the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan, seismic safety evaluation for nuclear power plants draws more and more attention. Seismic probabilistic risk assessment is one of seismic safety evaluation methods. The review of the state-of-the-art research on the seismic probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) is given. Firstly, the history and background of seismic PRA methods in nuclear engineering are introduced. Secondly, the basic principles and the research progresses of seismic PRA methods are explored and summarized. Thirdly, as three refined methods for seismic PRA, the SMA-based seismic PRA, the performance-based seismic PRA and the advanced seismic PRA methods are reviewed respectively. Finally, the seismic PRA methods are summarized and prospected.
