Abstract: In order to compare the dynamic characteristics and service performances of prefabricated short and cast-in-place long floating slab tracks, under the condition of regarding the track structures as periodic infinite structures, the dynamic analysis models for two types of tracks are established according to their structure characteristics, and then some related calculations are implemented. Calculation results show that: (1) Compared with the cast-in-place long floating slab track (FST) structure, the prefabricated short FST structure′s sharing capacity for bearing the low frequency loads is lower. (2) Track mode corresponding to any two neighbouring slabs vibrating with opposite phases has great influence on the vibration response of prefabricated short FST structure, but has nearly no influence on that of cast-in-place long FST structure. (3) In the frequency band of 30~100Hz, the rail and slab responses of cast-in-place long FST caused by moving train are greater than those of prefabricated short FST, but in most frequency bands below 25Hz, the rail and slab responses of prefabricated short FST caused by moving train are greater than those of cast-in-place long FST. (4) Compared with the cast-in-place long FST, the prefabricated short FST should adopt the vibration isolators with a longer fatigue life.
