Abstract:The Taiwan strait sea-crossing engineering is the national highway and an important part of the rail network, also be to strengthen national defence, the response to emergencies, maintain peace development environment of need, after the completion of cross-sea channel will speed up the mainland and Taiwan economic integration, and meet the cross-strait traffic transportation growing demand. From domestic and foreign similar engineering can be seen, the Taiwan strait channel workload is huge, and the technology is complex, difficult, and the required time is long. In the research of the Taiwan strait meteorological and hydrological, geological conditions of the foundation, on the bridge and tunnel scheme line a preliminary scheme than the election analysis, thought the Taiwan strait sea-crossing engineering should use the tunnel, and the Pingtan-Xinzhu tunnel line is a better solution, After the comparison between a line of shallow buried tunnel and a line of deep buried tunnel, we come to a conclusion, the later is the better.. Because there are many technical problems, when we are facing the construction of high way tunnel. And also the construction cost of highway tunnel and operation cost are very high, therefore, the railway tunnel scheme as a preferred scheme is feasible, car can travel by train carry through the tunnel.
