Abstract:The bending tests of seven reinforced concrete (RC)short beams strengthened by CFRP were carried out,and the flexural stiffness curves in their whole loading processes were obtained and analyzed. Based on the assumption of reasonable calculation,the calculation method on flexural stiffness curve for the short beam strengthened by CFRP was proposed. The calculation results show that this proposed method has good accuracy and can be used to calculate the flexural stiffness of short beams with or without CFRP. Based on the flexural stiffness calculation method and the numerical integration principle,a selfdeveloped MATLAB program was used to calculate the rotation angle of the RC short beam strengthened by CFRP. A comparison indicates that the calculated rotation angles agree well with the tested angles. The flexural stiffness calculation method can be used for the RC short beam strengthened by CFRP. The calculation of rotation angle validated the rationality and applicability of the calculation method on flexural stiffness.
