Abstract:Cutters wear is an important factor affecting the efficiency of TBM tunneling. In order to study the law of TBM cutters wear in high strength surrounding rock, the tunnel of XEVIII section of the second phase of water supply project in North Xinjiang is studied here. The maximum strength of surrounding rock of the tunnel is 160MPa, and the average strength is about 120MPa. According to the cutters wear data in the process of TBM tunneling of 5250m, The cutters wear of different positions, the influence of surrounding rock strength and tunneling parameters on cutters wear and the sensitivity of different tunneling parameters to cutters wear are studied. The results show that the cumulative wear of the center cutters and the front cutters increases exponentially with the increase of the installation radius, and the cumulative wear of the edge cutters is affected by the installation angle, which increases at first and then decreases with the increase of the installation radius. The single cutter wear of the edge cutters is the largest, the front cutters is the second, and the center cutters is the smallest; with the increase of surrounding rock strength, the wear per meter of center cutters and front cutters increases exponentially, and the wear per meter of edge cutters increases quadratically, and the cumulative wear per meter of all cutters increases linearly. When the surrounding rock strength is constant, with the increase of cutter head speed, cutter head torque, thrust and penetration, the cutters wear per meter changes quadratically, which firstly increases and then decreases, and with the increase of tunneling speed, the cutters wear per meter appears to be quadratic, firstly decreases and then increases. Cutters wear is the most sensitive to cutter head torque and thrust. In order to reduce cutter head wear, it is suggested that the cutter head torque shall be controlled in the range of 1100~1300kN·m or 2100~2400kN·m, and the thrust should be controlled in the range of 9000~11000kN or 15000~16000kN.
