Abstract:Based on the specimens subjected to shear force, the shear bearing capacity of joint in segmental assembled beam was experimentally studied. Shearing tests were carried out on three types of specimens and under different compressive stress levels. For the three types of specimens, the measured shear bearing capacity shows a linear variation with the compressive stress of the section. Based on the linear regression results of test data, the calculation formulas for the shear bearing capacity of shear key and epoxied joint were derived. By analyzing test and calculation data, the influences of epoxy resin adhesive, shear key and compressive stress on the shear bearing capacity of joint were investigated. The research results disclose that application of epoxy resin adhesive can significantly improve the shear bearing capacity of plane joint; the contribution of shear key to the shear capacity of epoxied joint is quite limited; the compressive stress level of the joint has a great influence on the shear bearing capacity of section; in the ultimate limit states, the shear failures of three types of specimens appear to be brittle failure. The proposed calculation formulas for the shear bearing capacity of shear key and epoxied joint can be referred when calculating shear bearing capacity of joint in segmental assembled beam.
