Abstract:High-speed railway is the key transportation infrastructure developed by many countries worldwide, it has made impact to both economic development and social progress. The basic difference between high-speed railway and conventional railway is that the train operates at a high speed. As a result, strict limits are put forward to control railway track foundation’s vibration as well as its settlement, which have exceeded traditional geotechnical theories and technologies, thus the high-speed railway track foundation dynamics becomes an interdisciplinary field of railway engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural dynamics, etc. and has become a cutting-edge and hot research topic in the world. This paper summarizes the domestic and overseas research progresses on the high-speed railway track foundation dynamics, focusing on the theoretical models of analyzing track foundation dynamic responses under train moving loads, the distribution of dynamic soil stress in the soils under track structure and its amplification effect as the train speed increases, prediction methods of track foundation accumulative settlement caused by train operations and its corresponding control and repair technologies. Finally, prospects are proposed on the developments of high-speed railway track foundation dynamics.
