Abstract:On the basis of the experiment research on stability of glass ribs, the finite element model is established to simulate the stability of glass rib. Based on the elastic stability theory, the stability bearing capacity of single-piece glass ribs connected with glass panels and silicone structural adhesive is studied and a design formula for the buckling critical load is put forward by the energy method. The calculation results by the proposed formula coincides well with the experimental results and the finite element analysis results, which will lay a theoretical foundation for the stability design of glass rib in the full glass curtain wall.
