Abstract:The leakage problem of MR damper is caused by the traditional dynamic sealing device after a long-time service, which seriously affects the performance and service life of the damper. Therefore, the paper proposed a new type of sealing device, which was made of viscoelastic material attached between piston rod and outer cylinder and was made into new MR damper. Static sealing device was used to replace the traditional dynamic seal form, and an new anti-leakage MR damper was designed. However, the viscoelastic material warps the damper cavity pressure that changes under pressure. the introduction of pressure gradient correction coefficients need to be considered. Due to warping deformation of viscoelastic material influence on the damping force, established new anti-leakage mechanical model of MR damper, and simulated. The results showed that warping deformation had a weakening effect on damping force, and dynamic characteristics of anti-leakage MR damper could be well reflected by the mechanical model with pressure gradient correction coefficient.
