With the high-speed development of infrastructure and urban modernization in China，ground improvement technologies have been rapidly developed and applied in practice. This study reviews briefly the development history of ground improvement technologiesand theorical researches in China. The new technology，process and engineering application of ground improvement emerged in recent five years are focused. The renewal design theory and technology specification are also analyzed in this paper. In addition，the development trend of quality control and intelligent construction technology are discussed. Finally，the future needs of the ground improvement technology in China are suggested.
