From the perspective of interaction between institutions and technology, 21 factors affecting BIM adoption in construction organizations were first identified by existing literature. Then social network analysis (SNA) method was employed to study the relationships between these factors, which provide a roadmap for construction organizations to promote BIM adoption. This study found that leadership or management style is the most important factor affecting BIM adoption in construction organizations. Moreover, financial support and organizational learning & innovation also play a key role in BIM adoption. In addition, this study has also attempted to construct the roadmap of BIM adoption in all phases, so as to promote the continuous improvement of these factors. Finally, this study proposed corresponding suggestions for BIM adoption in construction organizations.
