Abstract:In order to study on the influence of foundation reinforcement on the seismic performance of embedded steel cylinder breakwater, dynamic response of breakwater was analyzed by numerical simulation and shaking table test before and after foundation reinforcement. Meanwhile, the seismic performance of breakwater was evaluated according to Seismic Design Guidelines for Port Structures (PIANC), and the influence of different reinforcement range on the seismic performance of the breakwater was studied. Results show that damage degree of Level 1 and Level 2 is serviceable for the breakwater after foundation reinforcement, which meet the demands of seismic performance. Residual horizontal displacement at the top of breakwater after foundation reinforcement is reduced over 60% under the different seismic waves. The reasonable reinforcement range is defined through the study on the seismic performance of different reinforcement range for backfill sand outside cylinder, and the reference can be provided for related research.
