Abstract:Prefabrication technology are applied in many metro stations in China. The characteristics of bending resistance under external load for newly developed grouted mortise-tenon joints used in prefabricated metro station structures are discussed. Based on the bending moment-rotation angle (M-θ) bearing characteristic curves extracted from 1∶1 scale prototype experiments of the joints, the bending resistance characteristic of the long joints with single-tenon, short joints with single-tenon and double-tenon joints used in practical engineering are investigated. In the analysis, some factors, such as loading conditions, grouting materials, grouting ranges and auxiliary pretension devices, are considered. Resistance bending moment, key to bearing behavior of the joint, is firstly introduced. In addition, the calculation method of “resistance bending moment” is developed, by which can the preliminary bearing capacity of the joint can be evaluated.
