Abstract:This study proposes two novel sliding bolt connections between sandwich wallboard and steel beam. The sliding bolt connection system using flexible connection is more adaptive for deformation of the main structure, and can reduce the effects of external wallboard on structural performance. The sliding performance of two types of sliding bolt connections was obtained through pseudo-static test. The test results concentrated that the period for the wallboard to resist horizontal force was postponed due to the connectors. No horizontal force was transferred to wallboard within presupposed deformation, which meets the demand of flexible connection. The action sphere of static friction was small before sliding, therefore, static friction had minor impact on behavior of the sliding bolt connection system.
