Abstract:Due to the lack of natural resources and more efforts on environment protection, the application of recycled aggregate concrete in practical engineering is becoming possible and practical nowadays. However, due to the limited knowledge of the key parameters for seismic design of the recycled aggregate concrete structures, the structural engineers generally apply the parameters of natural aggregate concrete structures in the design of recycled aggregate concrete structures, resulting in safety problems in the real engineering projects. Based on the design experience of a 12-story recycled aggregate concrete frameshear wall structure in Shanghai, and the latest lab and field research achievements on the seismic performance of the recycled aggregate concrete structures, the key parameters in the seismic design are proposed, such as the material properties, constitutive model and damping ratio, the control indexes, the axial compression ratio and the interstory drift limitation. Finally, some design softwares for the seismic design of recycled aggregate concrete structures are introduced and compared. The research results can lay good foundation for the design theory and practice of recycled aggregate concrete structures.
