Abstract:In order to investigate the vibration characteristics of the wind-rain-induced vibration of stay cables, a long-term monitoring system was installed on the Dongting Lake cable-stayed bridge, by which the main influence parameters of wind-rain-induced vibration include wind velocity, wind direction and rainfall, and their one-dimensional marginal distribution models were obtained. Two-dimensional joint probability distribution model of wind velocity and wind direction, wind velocity and rainfall, wind direction and rainfall, and three-dimensional joint distribution model of wind velocity, wind direction and rainfall were built by the Archimedean copulas function. The fittest distribution and model parameters of the joint probability distribution function were determined according to the goodness of fit index. The three dimensional joint non exceedance probability model and the three dimensional joint exceedance probability model were proposed base on the one-dimensional joint distribution, two-dimensional joint distribution and three-dimensional joint distribution. With the proposed model, the three dimensional joint exceedance probability, non-exceedance, joint conditional probability and the probability density under different combination of wind and rain can be calculated. The occurring probability of wind-rain-induced vibration under the various conditions of wind and rain can be also evaluated.
