Abstract:To study the failure problems of frame columns in the thin steel plate shear wall structure, the PEC column with high strength and stiffness is proposed, which can be used for a vertical edge member forms PEC-SPSW structure. Experimental study on seismic behavior of A frame with H-shaped steel columns and two frames with PEC Columns under cyclic loading, and the bearing capacity, initial stiffness, energy dissipation capacity, stress distribution and failure pattern were analyzed. The test results indicate that the steel plate shear wall structure with PEC columns has better lateral stiffness, bearing capacity and energy dissipation. The PEC column has better anchorage and restraint effect on the thin steel plate, thus making the thin steel plate fully exerting the post-buckling strength, and the steel plate shear wall with PEC column has good prospects for application.
