Abstract:Suzhou Bridge station to Wanshousi station running tunnel of Beijing metro line 16 is restricted by the Suzhou bridge piers. In order to study the effect of overlapping tunnels on adjacent bridge structures and control effect. The subsidence laws of stratums after excavations of overlapping tunnels were analyzed firstly. Secondly, the deformation laws of bridge during tunnels’ construction were studied. Then two protection measures of grouting and isolation piles were put forward and the protection effects were compared and analyzed. Finally, the protection effect was evaluated by field monitoring. The results of research show that: without protective measures, the final settlement value of the abutment is 14mm, which is closed to control criterion, and the maximum longitudinal differential settlement (6.2mm) and the maximum lateral differential (6.5mm) are both out of control criterions. The longitudinal differential settlement reaches its maximum value during the left line excavation while the maximum lateral differential settlement occurs after the right line is completed. By comparing grouting and isolation piles, it is found that both of them can make the bridge deformations within the control criterions, and the control effect of isolation piles is slightly better than that of grouting. Restricted by field conditions, grouting was actually used as a control method for bridge deformation, and the field monitoring data showed that the grouting effect was remarkable.
