Abstract: In order to meet the requirement of moisture reduction and reinforcement strength for river sludge, as well as to shorten the treatment duration and reduce the comprehensive cost, the comparative laboratory tests of electroosmosis, solidification, and simulated electroosmosis-solidification are conducted. The reinforcement effects of Ningbo river sludge are studied with different electric current, different mixing ratios of solidification agent, different curing ages. Meanwhile, the micro-characteristic changes of reinforced sludge are explored by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the reinforcement mechanism is analyzed. The results show that adopting a lower electric current can reduce the comprehensive cost and achieve the more uniform treatment effect. In the range of 6%~10% on mixing ratio of curing agent, the higher the mixing ratio, the more obvious the strength increasement for electroosmosis-solidification than that of single solidification reinforcement. When adopting the same mixing ratio of curing agent, the electroosmosis-solidification treatment is more conducive to form the cements and hydration products, and the drainage effect of electroosmosis plays an important role in the later strength growth of solidified sludge.
