Abstract:The structural dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings are important factors affecting assessments on the accuracy of structural wind effect. Field measurement is the only way to obtain actual structural dynamic characteristic parameters, and many relevant studies can be found. However, the situations with large amplitudes are rarely observed in the field measurements. In this work, a self-developed wireless acceleration sensor was used for long-term monitoring of the north tower of the Shenzhen Zhuoyue Century Center (ZCC) with a height of 280 m, and the acceleration response signals at the top of the ZCC tower during multiple typhoons in the past 10 years were obtained. By using different parameter identification methods, the acceleration time-histories at the top of the ZCC tower during five representative typhoons were analyzed in detail. In addition, the measured results during typhoon Mangkhut were compared with the results of wind tunnel test. Results show that the structural modal frequencies obtained by using different methods are consistent, but the modal damping ratios differ to some extent. The structural modal frequencies tend to decrease with increasing amplitude. The structural modal damping ratios in the downwind direction tend to increase with increasing acceleration, but the structural damping ratios in the crosswind direction are scattered largely, and its correlation with the acceleration amplitude is not evident. The measured peak accelerations at the top of the ZCC tower during typhoon Mangkhut agree well with the results of wind tunnel test, and the measured maximum peak acceleration for the last 10 years is 23.9 cm/s2, indicating that the building can meet the comfort criteria.
